I think that keeping your eye on the prize is a good strategy. If you’re not able to identify your target, it’s pretty tough to stay motivated.
I find myself thinking of Canada’s 2018 Olympic figure skating team – maybe the best that ever represented this country. The countless days, no years, that went into preparation for PyeongChang last February.
So, in other words, hard work pays off.
I got the chance to talk to Larkyn Austman, the Canadian national bronze medallist who competed in both the Winter Olympics and the World Figure Skating Championships.
What is it like to suddenly appear on the world stage? What are the steps that one needs to take to get there? These were all things that I wanted to be able to talk about with Larkyn. We caught up in a back hallway at the World Figure Skating Championships in March in Milan.
