Beverley Smith’s newest book
Beverley Smith has had a journalistic career that is second to none. Many of my readers here will know here as one of the leading voices in figure skating coverage most recently for the Globe and Mail.
I recently caught up with Bev at the Battle of the Blades of all places and asked her about skating, writing and the changes in her life.
As a veteran of more Olympics than just about anybody, her passion for that event led her to writing her latest book Skating to Sochi. It contains full colour pictures and in-depth profiles of 40 skaters/teams who will no doubt be in Sochi.
I went to the boutique at Skate Canada and bought myself a copy and promptly made Bev autograph it for me. (Although I work in skating, I am still a fan !) I didn’t want to wait for my family to buy the book for me at Christmas and am I ever happy with my impulse purchase! I have been poring over it ever since Saint John and have been learning stuff I didn’t know about many of my favourite skaters with every turn of the page.
If you are skating fan or have one in your life, this is the book for you !!!
